1. Who we are

Shuwadilu (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates shuwadilu.com and related mobile applications. For privacy questions, contact us at contact@shuwadilu.com.

2. Information we collect

You can browse listings without creating an account. Depending on how you use Shuwadilu, we may process:

• Visitor ID. An anonymous cookie (`shuwadilu_vid`) that helps us remember preferences and measure listing engagement (such as views and likes) without requiring a login.
• Usage & engagement. Actions such as viewing, liking, or saving advertisements, and basic technical data needed to run the service (for example, approximate device or browser type).
• Listing submissions. If you submit an ad, we collect the information you provide (title, description, category, location, photos or videos, and contact details such as phone or email) so we can review and publish the listing.
• Push notifications (optional). If you enable notifications, we store a push token and your category preferences so we can send relevant updates. You can turn this off anytime in Settings.
• Admin accounts. Platform administrators sign in with credentials we manage. Ordinary visitors do not need an account to use the public marketplace.

3. How we use information

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Shuwadilu marketplace
• Display and moderate advertisements
• Show contact options for listings you choose to engage with
• Send optional push notifications you have opted into
• Prevent abuse, spam, and technical issues
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our policies

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use an essential visitor cookie to keep the service working without accounts. Your device may also store likes, saved ads, or notification preferences locally. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser or app settings; doing so may reset anonymous preferences.

5. Sharing of information

We may share information only when needed to:

• Host and operate the service (for example, hosting, storage, or push delivery providers acting on our instructions)
• Respond to lawful requests by public authorities
• Protect the rights, safety, or integrity of Shuwadilu users
• Publish listing contact details that advertisers themselves choose to include on a listing

6. Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Published listings and related engagement metrics may remain while the ad is live or archived for operations. Push tokens are removed when you disable notifications or the token becomes invalid. Submitted contact details stay with the listing unless you ask us to update or remove them.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong passwords for any admin access and avoid sharing sensitive data in listing descriptions.

8. Children

Shuwadilu is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your choices and rights

• Disable or manage push notifications in Settings or your device system settings
• Clear cookies and local site data in your browser or app
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you submitted (for example, listing contact details) by emailing contact@shuwadilu.com

Because most browsing is anonymous, we may need enough detail from you (such as a listing URL or contact you used on a submission) to locate and act on your request.

10. International users

Shuwadilu is operated with a focus on Rwanda. If you access the service from elsewhere, your information may be processed in countries where our hosting or service providers operate.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Shuwadilu after an update means you accept the revised policy.
